I have Judy SL's from 1996 I think they have the same travel as the xc 60mm. The DH had 80mm. Wait found this, Rock Shox Museum 1995 sees the introduction of the Judy series of shocks. All Judy shocks feature larger 28mm uppers, biaxial wrap around brace and a new forged aluminum crown. SERVICE MANUAL 1996 For Judy XC. ROCK SHOX JUDYS–The Judys are designed as a modular system. The multicellular urathane (MCU) springs and damper cartridge are easy to.
I have a Judy J3 and it is on a bike that has been hanging updie down in my garage from the ceiling for the winter. I took it down to ride around a little the other day and there was an oily fluid all over the lockout adjuster knob thingy, so now I can no longer use the lockout function. The Rock Shox website said that if I run the for through its travel 10 to 20 times with the lockout off and the lockout function will return.
I pushed on the the fork while riding it for nearly a half hour and still no lockout. Lockout isnt a big loss to me because i dont really use it that much, but my bike is brand new, by the way it is an 06 Specialized Rockhopper, and i dont want to have any fork problems. Any suggestions to get my fork working again would be sweet. I'm not sure about the whole hanging upide down thing but on rock shox site they did say if that was the case, to pump the shocks up and down like 20 times or something before making adjustments to it. On my J3 (which I think I just blew), the lockout worked sometimes and didn't sometimes. So it's just kinda luck I guess.
It's a pretty low end fork so you get what you pay for. Mine bike has only been riden even mildy hard for one week now btw. If you are seeing oil though, I can't help you there. That would scare me too, but might not be a biggie.
